Forest Sanction Mugalu’s Return

Must read

MTN Super League side Forest Rangers have bolstered their striking force with the signing of former league top scorer Chris Mugalu on a free transfer.

Forest confirmed the signing of the 34-year-old Congolese striker in a publication shared on the club’s official social media platforms this morning.

“We’re delighted to bring on board seasoned and lethal striker Chris Mugalu who will bolster our attack until the end of the season,” the posting reads.

Mugalu, who left Zambia in 2020 to join Simba SC in Tanzania from Lusaka Dynamos, has signed a short-term deal until the end of the season and reunites with head coach Ian Bakala with whom he worked at Dynamos.

The Congolese marksman made his mark on the Zambian football scene during his time at Lusaka Dynamos and won the MTN Super League golden boot in 2017 after emerging as the top scorer with 25 goals.

Meanwhile, Forest have also signed Congolese defender Lebeau Binemo Madi formerly of Zesco United, as they look to strengthen their roster in the second round of the season.

Currently 15th with 23 points on the Super League table, Forest have had a difficult campaign and will hope the new signings will help the club revive its fortunes and avoid relegation.
