Lusaka Man Convicted of Incest After Abusing His 13-Year-Old Daughter

Must read

A 55-year-old Lusaka man, Bernard Ndubula, has been convicted of sexually abusing his 13-year-old biological daughter.

Ndubula pleaded guilty to incest charges, admitting to the heinous crime.

According to court records, the abuse occurred on October 5, 2024, when Ndubula deceived his daughter into returning home, claiming he had bought her desired books.

Once she was in his custody, he threatened her with a green knife, warning her not to scream or disclose the abuse.

The brave survivor reported the incident to her neighbor the following day, who advised her to inform her elder sister.

The sister then helped the minor report the abuse to their mother over the phone, ultimately leading to the involvement of the police.

During the court proceedings, Ndubula’s defense claimed that some facts presented were untrue, specifically the threat of a knife and the use of a blanket.

However, Ndubula acknowledged that the abuse occurred in the sitting room.

In a plea for leniency, Ndubula stated that he had learned from his actions and that it was not his intention to harm his daughter.

However, the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court deemed the matter beyond its jurisdiction, transferring it to the High Court for mitigation, confirmation of conviction and possible sentencing.
