Clatous Chama Swaps Simba For Arch-Rivals as Budo Arrives in Dar

Zambian international midfielder Clatous Chota Chota Chama has made a shocking move to join Tanzanian giants Yanga SC from their bitter city arch-rivals Simba SC on a free transfer.

The 33-year old spent five years with Simba where he is regarded as one of the club’s greatest players for his outstanding performances in Dar-es-Salaam club where he has been affectionately known as “Mwamba wa Lusaka” (The Rock of Lusaka) by local fans.

Chama who joined Simba in 2018 from Lusaka Dynamos, has joined Yanga on a one-year extendable contract after turning down a new deal at Simba.

The Chipolopolo midfielder was officially unveiled by Yanga this Monday morning as the club look to strengthen their roster ahead they bid to defend the Tanzanian Premier League title and fight continental honours next season.

Meanwhile, Simba have also announced the signing of attacker Joshua Mutale from Power Dynamos.

Mutale, 22, has signed a three-year deal until June, 2027 with Simba where he will be tasked to come in fill up the void left after Chama’s departure.

Chama made a total of 183 appearances, scoring 43 goals and provided 60 assists in his two separate stints with Simba.
