Isoka Member of Parliament Marjory Nakaponda has asked the Lusaka High Court to issue a default judgment in her favor after former Kabushi MP Bowman Lusambo failed to respond to a lawsuit demanding a K375,000 refund.
The case arises from a failed property sale involving Lusambo’s Silverest house in Chongwe.
Court documents indicate that Nakaponda and Lusambo agreed on a sale contract on April 28, 2024, with a purchase price of K600,000. She paid K375,000 towards the property but was unable to complete the transaction when Lusambo stopped responding to her calls on June 5, 2024.
Despite issuing a demand letter on October 14, 2024, requesting a refund, Nakaponda claims Lusambo failed to pay back the money. She has since taken legal action, citing financial loss and emotional distress caused by his alleged dishonesty.
Nakaponda is seeking a court order to recover the K375,000, damages for breach of contract, and interest on the amount owed. Since Lusambo has not entered an appearance or filed a defense within the required timeframe, she is requesting the court to rule in her favor.
The judgment in default is pending approval by the judge.
