Zambia women’s national team head coach Nora Häuptle says she has a complete side at her service after naming her final squad to face Malawi this month.
Häuptle has this afternoon named her first-team squad consisting of available foreign stars after a week-long residential camp with locally based players in Lusaka.
The Swiss trainer has for the first time under her tenure summoned US-based superstars Barbara Banda and Rachael Kundananji who lead the 28-member squad that also consists of six foreign based players.
Speaking to the press after unveiling her squad, Häuptle said she believes that she has assembled a good and competitive squad.
“I think that we have a balanced squad now and the strength has always been the transition in the attack and we have worked on it,” Häuptle said.

Häuptle says they have also worked on the Copper Queens’ weaknesses in defence whereas the players have swiftly fitted into her style of play.
“We’ve also worked to stabilize the defence and also give structure into certain things and I think the players are very open-minded and quick in adapting to the new philosophy,” she said.
Häuptle will take charge of her first assignments as Copper Queens coach on 22nd and 25th February in back-to-back friendly matches against Malawi to be played at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.
The Copper Queens will use the two friendly matches to prepare for the upcoming 2024 (to be played in 2025) TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations starting in July this year
